What Is Independent Living—and Is It Right for You?

When people hear “independent living,” they often think of senior communities or luxury apartments—but at Simple Life House, independent living is about more than age or amenities. It’s about providing adults with a safe, affordable place to live where they can thrive on their own terms—with a little support.

So, What Is Independent Living?

Independent living refers to housing designed for adults who are able to care for themselves without full-time supervision or medical assistance. Unlike assisted living or skilled nursing care, independent living focuses on personal autonomy and community connection—not clinical care.

At Simple Life House, we support this model by offering:

  • Private and shared rooms

  • Secure, furnished homes with fingerprint access

  • All-inclusive utilities (water, electric, internet)

  • Limited support services like transportation planning and resource referrals

Is Independent Living Right for You?

Here are a few questions to help you decide:

  • Are you able to manage your day-to-day responsibilities (meals, hygiene, medications)?

  • Do you want a safe, stable living environment without the high cost of solo housing?

  • Are you comfortable with shared spaces and community living?

  • Are you open to light structure and community rules?

If you answered “yes” to most of these, Simple Life House may be a great fit.

Who We Serve

We welcome a wide range of individuals—including seniors, veterans, working adults, and individuals—who are seeking a supportive, respectful home.

Independent doesn’t mean alone.

At Simple Life House, you can live your life your way—with others doing the same.
